DPO office ransacked

By Our Correspondent

BAHAWALPUR, Sept 6: Over Rs300,000 and official files were stolen from the district police officer’s (DPO) office on Wednesday night, Dawn has learnt.

According to sources, cash boxes at the DPO office were found open on Thursday morning. Later, the DPO asked the accountant and officials concerned to explain about the incident.

However, DPO Arif Nawaz denied reports of theft at his office. He said the cash in the boxes was untouched and that it was counted by Additional Police Superintendent Muhammad Kashif. He dispelled the impression that any official record had been stolen from his office.
