KARACHI, Sept 5: Khawaja Kashif and Ghalia Khurshid were on Wednesday crowned the men and women’s singles champions respectively in the inaugural Dr Essa Mohammad Karachi ranking table tennis tournament at the PSB National Coaching Centre.

Kashif beat Asim Aziz, 11-4, 7-11, 11-8, 13-11, 11-8, in the final to land the men’s crown.

Ghalia whipped Naureen Tehseen, 11-8, 11-8, 10-12, 11-5, 11-4, to claim the women’s title.

The boys’ U-18 singles title went to M. Usman who got the better of S. Ahsan Asad 11-4, 11-7, 11-7.

Men’s singles: Khawaja Kashif bt Asim Aziz 11-4, 7-11, 11-8, 13-11, 11-8.
