Work on road begins


GUJRANWALA, Sept 5: The construction work on Kamoki-Nangal Doona Singh Road has started after District Nazim Fayyaz Chattha laid down the foundation stone on Wednesday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the nazim said the road would be constructed at a cost of Rs60 million. He expressed the hope that the road would help farmers transport their produce to market quickly and earn good returns.

Later, Mr Chattha inaugurated a veterinary dispensary established at the cost of Rs800,000. During the briefing, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Gul, the executive district officer livestock, said 40 dispensaries had been established in the district while the construction of 14 more was going on.
