BHC issues notices in missing persons’ case

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Sept 5: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court, hearing two separate petitions about the missing people, has issued notices to the interior ministry, officers of the Military Intelligence and the Kuli camp, provincial home secretary, provincial police officer and SHOs of Pashtoonabad and Shalkot Police Stations.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani, asked the deputy attorney-general and the advocate-general, Balochistan, on Tuesday to file para-wise comments on the petitions.

In the first petition, MNA Maulana Noor Mohammad said that Wali Jan had been missing since March 14 from Pashtoonabad and he was believed to have been detained in the Kuli camp.

The petitioner further said that the detention of people by personnel of different intelligence agencies was a routine occurrence. He said the detained man was a voter of his constituency and being a representative of the area it was his responsibility to challenge the illegal detention.
