ISLAMABAD, Sept 4: The government on Tuesday appointed Shakil Durrani as chairman of Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) in place of Tariq Hameed who completed his one year extension in contract a few days ago.
Mr Durrani was currently working as secretary Railways.
Ghiasuddin, secretary ministry of local government and rural development has been posted as secretary railways.
Muhammad Baseer, managing director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has been appointed as managing director, Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) a holding company looking after the corporatisatin and unbundling process of Wapda. In his place, Azeem Abbas, senior general manager, SSGC has been appointed as acting managing director, SSGC.
