By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Sept 2: A British national detained in Adiala jail and whose release order was issued by the Supreme Court on August 31 is still not a free man.

Rangzieb Ahmed was picked up by security agencies from Haripur on August 20, 2006 on suspicion of having links with Al- Qaeda. He was shifted to an unknown place where he was interrogated by officials of security agencies.

He was kept at Police Lines, Rawalpindi, and was shifted to Adiala Jail three months ago.

The Supreme Court ordered the release of Rangzieb Ahmed, however, he is yet to be freed as the jail authorities claim that they have yet to receive his release orders.
