Protesters block road

Published September 2, 2007

HYDERABAD, Sept 1: A large number of people on Saturday blocked the Hyderabad-Kotri road in protest against doctors who conducted post-mortem on their relative.

They placed the body of the deceased, Sattar, on the road and burnt tyres. They stressed that Sattar had died of cardiac arrest on Friday and not as a result of injuries as the doctors said in their report.

Sattar died in a clash between two groups at a marriage ceremony in Oad Colony.

As the blockade prolonged police arrived there and persuaded the protesting men to disperse peacefully. Police advised them to meet with the doctors if they had reservations on their opinion. Police have, however, lodged a case against six persons.
