Three freed from illegal detention

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 1: The Police Vigilance Team Mirpurkhas Division raided 12 police stations of Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Sanghar districts, and freed three illegally confined persons from lock-ups. No case was registered against any.

The team constituted by the DIG Mirpurkhas Fayaz Ahmed Leghari raided different police stations and got freed Aziz Marwari from Kunri Police station, Imam Bux Kapri from Taluka Police Station Mirpurkhas and Ayaz Chandio from Tando Adam Police Station.

The DIG Mirpurkhas issued directives to concerned DPOs to take action against police officers involved in illegal confinement.

Eight hurt: Eight people, including women and children were seriously injured in accident on Umerkot Kunri Road near Umerkot on Saturday.

Report said a rickshaw was hit by a speedy coaster (R-0013) as a result seven passengers of a family and the rickshaw driver were injured.

The injured were identified as Afaq Ahmed, Shaukat Ali, Yasmin, Seema Naz, Gul Shamim, Yasmin Naz, Mohammed Sadiq and the driver Abdul Majeed Kapri.

The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Umerkot where driver Abdul Majeed was referred to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas due to his condition.

Umerkot police impounded the coaster while its driver managed to escape.

No case was registered till the filing of this report.
