BUNER: Protests against power outage

Published September 2, 2007

BUNER, Sept 1: Students of the Daggar Degree College and the people of Tor Warsak and Anghapur villages on Saturday blocked the roads to Swat and Mardan in protest against power outages.

Protesters occupied the road at Swari in the morning to protest against loadshedding and denial of admission to hundreds of students to first and third year classes in the college.

They condemned the Pesco authorities and said power failures were making the life of local people miserable. They also criticised the college principal's policy and said it had deprived hundreds of students of the opportunity to continue their education.

Meanwhile, people from Tor Warsak and Anghapur took to the streets, demanding an end to load shedding.
