LAHORE, Aug 30: The city district government of Lahore’s food squad on Thursday caught 55 people for bringing unhygienic milk in the city at Gulshan-i-Ravi and Nawankot areas.

Some 1,150 litres of milk containing worms and straws was confiscated and destroyed on the spot while samples were also collected from several other milkmen to check adulteration, a CDGL official said.

A campaign to check adulteration had been launched to ensure availability of pure spices, baisan, tomato ketchup, butter, sharbat and other such items during the holy month of Ramazan.
