KHAIRPUR, Aug 30: A man was killed and eight others suffered serious injuries when Kandhra and Bhangwar communities clashed over release of rainwater into village in the Masoom Shah Ji Wandh village of Kotdiji taluka on Thursday.

Arz Mohammad Bhangwar, 30, was killed on the spot and Abdul Karim, Mohammad Hassan, Din Mohammad, Sher Mohammad, Hussain Bux, Gul Hassan, Mohammad Bachal and Arsoo suffered serious injuries when the rival groups exchanged fire and used axes and sticks in the clash.

Fazal Mohammad Bhangwar told journalists that the clash erupted when they stopped Kandhra community from releasing rainwater into their village.

The injured were moved to Kotdiji hospital whereas the body of Arz Mohammad was handed over to relatives.
