Call for church protection

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Aug 29: The Christian Action Committee, Balochistan, has urged the government to provide security to churches and demanded arrest of all people who attacked a church in Quetta on Aug 26.

The members of the committee held a demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club on Tuesday. They condemned the attack and alleged that the miscreants had used abusive language and insulted women in the church.

Addressing the protesters, committee’s chairman Asif John said that on Aug 26 about 30 people came to the church on the Spiny Road and injured worshippers including Wilson Fazal.

He said police was informed and some miscreants were arrested. However, majority of them escaped. He urged the government to deploy police near churches.
