Demo against digging of roads

MULTAN, Aug 28: Traders from Shujaabad Road and the people living in adjoining areas staged a protest demonstration against Wasa and Wapda authorities here on Tuesday.

The protesters blocked Shujaabad Road and also raised slogans against Union Council 33 Nazim Sheikh Sajid Sohail and Naib Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal. They said Wasa authorities dug various areas two months ago, but they forgot to fill large holes. They said that now rainwater had accumulated in these holes, causing problems for traders of Shujaabad Road and residents of Sadiqabad, Nizamabad, Wahidabad and Rehmanabad.

They said they asked the nazim and the naib nazim several times to solve their problem, but they did not. They said that people were suffering from drinking water shortage due to Wapda’s unannounced load shedding.
