MINGORA, Aug 27: Five security personnel were injured during an exchange of fire with militants in Amankot area on Sunday night. Officials said that the assailants escaped during the exchange of fire.
The injured personnel were taken to a hospital where they were stated to be in a stable condition.
Police officials said that a joint patrolling team of the Frontier Corps and anti-terrorism squad of police had information about presence of some militants in a house in Amankot.
When the team reached the house the militants started firing and the security personnel returned fire.
Our Lower Dir Correspondent adds: Two hairdressers’ salons were blown up by unidentified persons in the Balambhut police area on Monday morning.
Police sources said that improvised explosive devices were planted near shops owned by hairdressers Umer Bacha and Sultan Zaib in Kala Dhak bazaar.
The devices went off one after the other.
The police registered an FIR against unidentified culprits.
