Boy drowns in rainwater

Published August 28, 2007

HYDERABAD, Aug 27: A four-year old boy was drowned in stagnant rainwater in Frontier Colony in the Latifabad Union Council-16 on Monday. Latifabad Union Council-16 Nazim Sajida Baloch told journalists that Pappu, son of Ayaz, was resident of Zealpak Colony but had gone to Frontier Colony to play. While playing he went deep inside rainwater accumulated in a ground and drowned, she added.

Pappu was taken to Bhittai Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead as according to them water had entered into his brain.

Negligence of concerned departments is evident as even after passing of so many days rainwater can be found standing at many places, either creating nuisance for residents and passers-by or resulting into a casualty like the one mentioned above.
