Kuwait changes weekly holiday

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: Kuwait is set to change its weekly holidays from Thursday and Friday to Friday and Saturday from Sept 1, to provide more working days in line with the international market.

Financial analysts have hailed the decision, saying it would provide an additional common working i.e., Thursday between Kuwait and most of the world.

Kuwait’s Islamist MPs opposed the move saying Saturday was the ‘day of Jews’ but the law was passed by the parliament.
