JACOBABAD: Traders threaten strike

JACOBABAD, Aug 25: A rally was taken out here on Saturday against the deteriorating law and order in the city. The president of the local chamber of commerce led the rally which was started from the Sarafa bazaar.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards and raising slogans against the police and threatened to observe complete strike at vegetable and fruit markets on Monday and Tuesday.

They marched through Bhittai bazaar, Cinema road, Quaid-i-Azam road, DCO road where they staged a sit-in.

Later, the protesters reached the press club where their leaders Ahmed Ali Brohi, Attaullah Awan, Ghulam Nabi Qureshi, Haji Ghulam Nabi Rind and others speaking to the protesters said that the law and order situation was deteriorating day by day while robbers were roaming freely in the city.

They said that a trader, Mohammad Akram Pathan, was deprived of Rs200,000 and Basheer Ahmed Sabhayo a commission agent was deprived of Rs100,000 in robbery cases .They demanded early arrest of the culprits.
