Taufel training Indian umpires

BANGALORE, Aug 24: Where Indian umpires are concerned, the BCCI finally seems to mean business.

After asserting that every delivery in senior tournaments would be video-recorded to keep an umpire’s log for evaluation purposes, the board has arranged a six-day training camp for 105 Indian umpires with Simon Taufel at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

This is part of a three-year agreement with Cricket Australia (CA) for training and development of umpires, which might be a direct consequence of Srinivas Venkataraghavan’s [director of umpiring, India] visit to Australia. — Agencies
