NIRC notice to Wapda

Published August 25, 2007

LAHORE, Aug 24: The National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) has issued notice to Wapda on a petition seeking upgradation of posts of commercial accountants and audit assistants like that of auditors.

The notice has been issued on a petition filed by the Pakistan Wapda Hydro-Electric Central Labour Union, saying Wapda had inked an agreement with the union on Mar 1, 1994, that the authority would upgrade the posts of commercial accountants and audit assistants like that of auditors. It had upgraded the posts of auditors but failed to upgrade the posts of commercial accountants and audit assistants, the petitioner added. NIRC Senior Member Syed Akhtar Ali Naqvi issued the notice subject to Wapda’s objections for Sept 17. — Reporter
