KARACHI, Aug 23: Former Test off-spinner Haseeb Ahsan is hospitalised these days with a serious renal problem at the Kidney Centre.

On Thursday, ex-Pakistan opening batsman Mohsin Khan, the PCB’s Regional General Manager for Sindh, paid a visit to Haseeb on behalf of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The 68-year-old Haseeb, who took 27 wickets in 12 Tests between 1958 and 1962, also held several posts after retiring from the game.

He was chief selector and also went to England in 1987 as the outspoken manager of the Pakistan side led by Imran Khan.

Haseeb also featured on the three-member appellate panel which overturned the bans imposed on fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif for doping offences late last year.

Mohsin, who scored 2709 runs in 48 Tests and 1877 in 75 One-day Internationals in an eight-year Pakistan career which ended in 1986, replaced Nasim-ul-Ghani earlier this month who was PCB’s regional development manager for Karachi.
