They were admitted to hospitals in Okara and Renala Khurd in critical condition.

SHOT DEAD: A proclaimed offender was killed during an hour-long encounter with police near Tibbijah Singh in the limits of Noor Shah police station on Thursday.

Reports said that Sadar circle DSP Younus Butt, after getting a tip, raided a hideout of dacoit Walayat Wattoo in Taharka village along with a heavy police contingent. Seeing police, the criminals fired at them which was returned. But the wanted man along with his three accomplices managed to escape. Law enforcers chased the fleeing dacoits who entered Tibbijah Singh village in Sahiwal district. As the police reached close to dacoits, they took position in the village and started firing on law enforcers. The shootout continued for about an hour and the police succeeded in arresting the injured dacoit, Wattoo, while his accomplices beat a retreat. The injured dacoit was taken to a Noor Shah hospital where he died.
