ATTOCK, Aug 23: Five people including a police constable were killed and seven others injured on Thursday in a road accident on Attock -Basal road at Kalachita mountainous range.

The accident occurred when the driver of a Jand-bound wagon lost control over the vehicle while taking a sharp turn.

As a result, Mohammad Amin resident of Jalwal village, Mohammad Akhtar resident of Shamsabad village, Hidayat Khan resident of Bhindar village, Police constable of Injra Police station Mansoor Elahi and Dost Muhammad resident of Peshawar district were killed on the spot.

Seven other passengers who sustained injuries, were shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital Jand and Fauji Foundation hospital Basal.
