HARIPUR, Aug 22: Three people, including a woman, were killed in different incidents here on Wednesday.

Farooq Sultana, 61, went missing from village Kali Tarar Gharbi on August 15. Her mutilated body was found from a deserted place in the village on Tuesday.

Her son, Raja Akhtar Hussain, lodged an FIR against his uncle, Munawar Hussain, accusing him of murdering his mother.

The motive behind the murder, according to the complainant, was a property dispute. The woman was scheduled to appear before a court in a property case on August 16.

According to the doctor who conducted autopsy, the body was mutilated and it was difficult to determine what kind of method was used to kill the woman. However, she said, samples had been collected for a chemical examination.

In another case the bullet-riddled body of a young man was found from village Ghumawan, some 45 kilometres from here.

People of the area informed police about the body who took it to a hospital for autopsy.

An eight-year-old boy was killed when a speedy van ran over him near village Baka on the GT Road.

Eyewitnesses and police said Hamza Ali was crossing the road when the van hit him. He died on the spot.
