KARACHI: Police told to stay alert during rains


KARACHI, Aug 22: Inspector-General Police Zia-ul-Hasan has, in view of the situation following the rains, directed the Karachi traffic police and the operations branch police to remain alert and work at their places of deployment with efficiency to ensure smooth movement of traffic.

He directed the operations branch police to extend full support to the traffic police for an unhindered traffic flow.

The Karachi CCPO, DIG traffic, DIG operations of three zones, SPs of all traffic zones, all town SPOs and SHOs were asked to come into the field and help the traffic police.

The IGP said that wherever rainwater accumulated on roads, steps should be taken for its drainage with the help of the city government staff.—APP
