Cech honoured

PRAGUE, Aug 21: Chelsea goalkeeper Peter Cech was named Czech footballer of the year here on Monday for the third successive year.

The Golden Ball award is voted for by sports journalists and presented to the best Czech player over the previous season.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper, who has won 52 caps for his national team, took top spot ahead of Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky and Marek Jankulovski of Juventus. —AFP
