KARACHI: PAC seeks end to traffic woes

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 21: Pakhtun Action Committee (Loya Jirga) Chairman Shahi Syed has appealed to the Supreme Court to stop the city district and provincial governments from taking ad-hoc measures and to direct them to take concrete steps for solving the issue of traffic jams and all other problems on a permanent basis.

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, Mr Syed suggested that the court should order the setting up of a tripartite committee comprising representatives of the provincial and city district governments and the transporters to find a solution to the traffic problem.

He also requested the court to order the CDGK not to start any new road development project until the ongoing projects are completed.
