Rashid sees coalition with PPP


ISLAMABAD, Aug 17: Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, the People’s Party Parliamentarians and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement could be partners in the future ruling setup after the general elections.

Talking to a television channel, the minister said representation in future central and provincial governments would be given to each party in accordance with its election score.

Replying to a question, he said the Chaudhry brothers of the PML would hold an important position in the new dispensation.

The minister said that next two weeks would be important on the political horizon of the country.

Mr Rashid claimed that he had seen the agreement under which former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his brother Shahbaz Sharif and other members of their family had left the country in December 2000.

He said the Sharif brothers had signed the agreement and they could not return to the country for 10 years.

He said at Imam Hussain here, the Minister said Pakistan People’s Party leader and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto would return home after the general elections.—APP
