Musharraf may impose martial law: Fazl

By Our Correspondent

RAHIM YAR KHAN, Aug 17: President Pervez Musharraf can impose martial law to save his rule. MMA leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman said this while talking to reporters at the residence of JUI (F) central leader Maulana Rashid Ludhyanvi here on Friday.

He said the purpose of US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard A. Boucher’s visit was to pressurize the government to allow the attack of US forces inside the Pakistani territory.

The Maulana said the US interference in Pakistan could not be stopped as our government was following their agenda.

He said that seminaries not only in Pakistan but also in Bangladesh and India are under threat after the Lal Masjid operation.

The MMA leader said he did not participate in the Afghan jirga because it was held with no agenda.
