Ayub, Bilal shine


KARACHI, Aug 16: Paceman Mohammad Ayub and leg-spinner Bilal Manzoor excelled with five wickets each to help their respective teams win in the KCCA Inter-zonal U-15 cricket championship on Wednesday.

Ayub claimed 5-14 to bowl Zone-II Whites to a seven-wicket win over Zone-I Greens at the TMC. Zone-II Whites, batting first, were all out for 60. Zone-II Whites, reached the target in the 14th over. At Pak Star, Bilal Manzoor spun Zone-IV Whites to an 87-run victory against Zone-VI Blues.

S.M. Adeel top-scored with 42 as Zone-IV were dismissed for 166 in 46.1 overs. But in reply, Zone-VI Whites were spun out for just 79 in the 36th over with Bilal taking five for 19.

Meanwhile, at the Landhi Gymkhana, Zone-V Whites beat Zone-VII Blues by 148 runs.

Zone-II Whites beat Zone-I Greens by seven wickets.

ZONE-I GREENS 60 in 23.5 overs (Mohammad Ayub 5-14, Faisal Tahir 2-6); ZONE-II Whites 61-3 in 13.4 overs (Ahmer bin Nasir 30).

Zone-IV Whites beat Zone-VI Blues by 87 runs.

ZONE-IV WHITES 166 in 46.1 overs (S.M. Adeel 42, Saad Ali 20, Kamran Khan 20; Maimoon 3-49, Malik Ehtesham 2-35); ZONE-VI BLUES 79 in 35.2 overs (Bilal Manzoor 5-19, Abdul Rehman 4-20).

Zone-V Whites beat Zone-VII Blues by 148 runs.

ZONE-V WHITES 253 in 46 overs (Mohammad Safdar 75, Fahad Asad 50, Faizan 33; Waqar Ahmed 4-64); ZONE-VII BLUES 105 in 36 overs (Mohammad Babar 4-32, Adeel Khan 3-25).—APP
