LAHORE, Aug 16: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is contemplating to set up a central record room to keep data on its housing schemes. LDA Director-General Arif Khan made a four-member committee on Thursday which will also suggest ways and means to ensure safety of files containing record of all plots in its housing schemes.
The committee has been asked to finalise its recommendations within 10 days.
Presiding over a meeting of principal officers of LDA, the director-general expressed concern over the increasing number of complaints regarding missing of files and the highhandedness of staff, causing inconvenience to owners of plots in particular and the public in general.
He stressed the need for the evolvement of a procedure that could effectively prevent missing of files from the LDA record and its availability to the irrelevant people.
Mr Khan directed that recommendations for setting up a central record room under the supervision of an officer to the rank of a director should be finalised at the earliest.
