Patients robbed of mobile phones, Rs150,000

RAWALPINDI, Aug 16: A gang of five robbers stormed into a private clinic at Saidpur Road at 1.30 am and robbed patients of cash and cell phones and also took away the doctor’s car at gunpoint, police said.

Doctor Abdul Majeed lodged a complaint with the New Town police saying that five robbers entered his clinic and held him, nursing staff and the patients at gunpoint and snatched Rs 150,000, wrist watches and five cell phones from them.

The robbers also forced the doctor to give up the keys of his car (AW-354) parked outside his clinic and made off with the looted cash and car.

In another incident, four robbers entered a house in Chaklala and looted away Rs200,000 in cash, gold ornaments and cell-phones at gunpoint.

Khalid Mohammad Pasha in a complaint with Airport police said that four robbers entered his house and held his family at gunpoint. The robbers snatched cash and gold ornaments and cell phones and escaped after locking the inmates inside the house.
