KARACHI, Aug 16: Forty-eight Pakistani fishermen freed from Indian jails arrived at Ibrahim Hyderi here on Thursday. A large number of relatives and friends of the released fishermen from different parts of Thatta, Keti Bandar, Kharo Chhan, Jati and Karachi, led by Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum Chairman Mohammad Ali Shah, accorded them a warm welcome. Addressing the gathering, Mr Shah said that it was unfortunate that despite the lapse of 60 years, the dispute of Sir Creek was not resolved and resultantly poor fishermen had to suffer.

The PFF chairman demanded an end to the arrest of fishermen.

He also demanded that all Pakistani fishermen languishing in Indian jails should be freed at the earliest.—PPI
