AJK board announces intermediate results
MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 15: The AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Tuesday announced the results of intermediate (part I and II) annual examinations 2007, with many of the positions going to girls.
Announcing the results in Mirpur, officials of the board said about 22,379 candidates took the examination. Of them 11,615 had passed, with the pass percentage being 51.9. Top 20 position holders were present on the occasion.
The pass percentage for regular candidates was 61.38 and for private candidates it was 39.15.
In the pre-medical group, Sabahat Ahmed of the Government Girls Degree College, Muzaffarabad, secured the first position by obtaining 982 marks. Naazish Fiyaz of the Shaheen Model College, Muzaffarabad, and Amar Shahbaz of the Government Model Science College, Muzaffarabad, bagged second and third positions by securing 973 and 970 marks, respectively.
In the pre-engineering group, first three positions were secured by boys from the Government Science Model College, Muzaffarabad.
They were: Asim Hameed, Shujaat Ali and Zeeshaan Qadeer who obtained 956, 938 and 936 marks, respectively.
In the science general group, girls secured the top three positions.
They were Maimoona Afzal of the Government Girls College, Mirpur (877 marks), Safeena Khatoon of the Mohammedan International Computer and Science College, Hajira (854 marks) and Sehrish Abid of the Islamia Model Science College, Kharak (843 marks).
In the humanities group, boys bagged the top three positions.
They were: Zahid Shafaat of the Gulpur Kotli district, Shahbaz Shabir of Bandral Mirpur, and Ghulam Hussain of Chakswari Mirpur who bagged 916, 908 and 903 marks, respectively.
In the commerce group, Sarmad Iqbal Khan Kiyani of the Kashmir Institute for Advanced Studies, Mirpur, Anam Hanif of the Sir Sayed Gollege of Commerce and Business Administration, Muzaffarabad, and Faisal Zameer of the Kashmir Institute for Advanced Studies, Mirpur, secured first, second and third positions by obtaining 823, 801 and 764 marks, respectively.
