HYDERABAD, Aug 15: The suspended general secretary of Jeay Sindh Students Federation, Suryah Sindhi announced here on Wednesday that he along with other dozens of activists has left the Basheer Qureshi-led faction of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz and joined the JSQM organising committee headed by Shafi Karnani in protest against attitude of the party’s leadership.

He along with other party activists was speaking at a press conference at Qasimabad here on Wednesday.

Suryah Sindhi claimed that on the night of July 25, JSQM vice-chairman Niaz Kalani called him at a restaurant in Qasimabad where he was ‘abused and manhandled’.

He said, on the next day, Chairman JSQM Basheer Qureshi without hearing him decided the matter ex parte.

Suryah said he has resigned in protest from the post of JSSF general secretary. He claimed that his membership was suspended for one year in flagrant violation of the party constitution and only the central council or the national congress of the party had the authority to suspend the general secretary of the party’s students’ wing.

He termed the allegations levelled against him as totally false.

He appealed to the party activists to join the organising committee.
