KARACHI, Aug 15: The Sindh government is committed to improving the status of its lower grade employees, with specific reference to those associated with health-care delivery.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Sindh Health Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed said it was in this context that the long pending demands to upgrade the status of nurses and revise their service structure has been accepted and now nurses could be seen working in BPS-14 and above.
The health minister said a similar strategy would be evolved for paramedics provided that their academic qualifications adequately match the job.
Syed Sardar Ahmed underscored the need on the part of low-income employees to improve their educational qualifications as well as professional capacities. This, he clarified, did not mean that due promotions of lower grade employees would be denied.—APP
