KARACHI, Aug 15: Two container ships were berthed at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, chemicals and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Nedlloyd America, Borneo, Ariane, Maersk Carolina, Sinai, Shad Wan Island, Maria Bulker, Pegasus-7 and Multan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, edible oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 43,411 tons comprising 29,760 tons of import and 13,651 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Maersk Carolina and Ariane left the port while Borneo, Nedlloyd America and Pegasus-7 were due to depart.
