India end series as 6-3 winners

HYDERABAD (India), Aug 14: After already having won the inaugural volleyball Test series against Pakistan, India further improved the series result to 6-3 as they trounced Pakistan 3-0 in the ninth and final game of the series on Tuesday.

In the first set of the ninth encounter Pakistan’s ace spiker Naseer Ahmed was unfortunately out of the game due to a knee fracture. India, forming great combinations in attack and multiple blocks to counter the Pakistani spikers, won the set 25-18.

In the second set too the hosts sailed smoothly to win continuous points to win the set ultimately 25-23.

After getting the 2-0 lead, India didn’t allow their opponents to come back, pocketing the set 25-23 and the match 3-0.

The Pakistan team will return home on Thursday.—Agencies
