LAHORE, Aug 14: As the traffic police publicised no special plans for the public, almost all the major city arteries remained choked because of an unusual number of vehicles coming on the roads in connection with the celebrations.

The newly deployed traffic wardens were witnessed standing helplessly on various intersections amid an unruly mob of revellers.
