KARACHI: SC summons DIG over gridlock


KARACHI, Aug 14: Taking suo motu notice of Monday's severe traffic jam in the city, the Supreme Court summoned Traffic DIG Wajid Ali Khan Durrani at its Karachi Registry on Wednesday for an explanation.

Assistant Registrar of the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry Maqbool Mangrio on Tuesday told PPI that Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, currently sitting in the SC registry, took notice of the hours-long traffic jam on different main arteries of Karachi.

The main roads witnessed worst traffic chaos on Monday where thousands of vehicles remained stuck for several hours.

Hundred of thousands of Karachiites, including people going to their workplaces, remained stuck on the roads for hours. -—PPI
