Wapda-Nespak accord

LAHORE, Aug 13: Wapda has signed an agreement with Nespak for the preparation of detailed engineering design and tender documents of the Nai Gaj dam project. Wapda General Manager (Planning and Design) Dr Muhammad Siddique and Nespak Vice-President (Geo-technical and geo-environmental engineering design) Muhammad Ilyas signed the agreement on behalf of their organisations.

The dam will be constructed on the river Gaj in Dadu district of Sindh.

The project, to be completed in 18 months at a cost of Rs88.373 million, will help irrigate more than 44,000 acres of land. In addition, 2.3 megawatts of hydropower will also be generated.
