MIRPURKHAS: Drug store owner looted

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 13: Two unidentified armed men looted a drug agency in Lalchandabad here on Monday. The men entered the Honest Drug Agency and held hostage Mansoor Ali Khowaja, owner of the agency and Ubaidullah, a medical representative at gunpoint and looted cash Rs45,000, two cellphones and a wrist watch and fled. It was the third robbery at the agency within the last three months.

No case was lodged with town police till filing of this report.

SUSPENDED: EDO education Mirpurkhas Mohammed Khan Samoon visited primary and secondary schools of Tando Jan Mohammed and Mirwah Gorchani on Monday and found five teachers absent from duty. He suspended them and issued explanations notices.

The EDO directed the teachers to perform their duties regularly.

PROTEST: Activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (SB), People’s Youth (SB) and SPSF (SB) staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Monday to protest against the removal of fixed portraits of Mir Murtaza Bhutto in Sukkur and torture of their activists.

The protesters led by party’s district organiser Shahid Panhwar Malik Ajmal Awan raised slogans against police and district administration.They regretted that police didn’t take any action against those involved in the incident.
