KHAIRPUR, Aug 12: Three members of a family were killed and two children injured when a speeding van hit their motorcycle near Ubhri bus stop on the National Highway on Sunday.

Suhno Bugti, Ms Saheb Khatoon and Ms Saeedan died on the spot and the children, Zulfiqar and Mubeen, suffered injuries while the van driver escaped from the place.

The deceased were residents of Ubhri area of Khairpur taluka and were going for medical treatment to Khairpur city when the accident took place.

LOOTED: Ten armed men deprived passengers of a bus of cash, gold ornaments and valuables on the National Highway on Saturday night.

The bandits embarked on the bus at Sorah Chowk, held the driver and passengers hostage at gunpoint and deprived them of whatever they had.
