MIRPURKHAS: Mirpurkhas hospital hit by power crisis

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 10: About 270 patients of the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas are facing problems since Thursday due to tripping of the 100KV transformer. The transformer tripped due to overload which closed five operation theatres and suspended other activities.

Attendants complained that suffocation was more painful for patients in some wards.

Civil Surgeon Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti said following the bursting of transformer, power supply was provided to hospital through generator for some hours as it can not operate round the clock. He said patients and their attendants were facing hardships due to power outage.

He claimed that on the demand of Hesco officials he had arranged Rs13,000 for the repair of transformer.

Mirpurkhas has been in the grip of a power crisis since fire erupted in Dadu grid station a couple of days ago.
