ISLAMABAD, Aug 9: Pakistan have been placed in pool B of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship which will be staged in Jakarta from Sept 1 to 9.

Pool B also includes reigning champions Japan, Iran and Vietnam, thus making it perhaps the toughest group in the preliminary round of the championship.

The training camp for the Asian Volleyball Championship will begin at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, on Aug 20, soon after the team’s return from India.

Players likely to be invited to the Asian Championship camp:

Mohammad Zaman, Irfan Nawaz, Mohammad Yasin, Mohammad Tariq Wasim, Ashfaq Hussain, Kashif Mansoor, Naeem Jan, Mohib Rasool, Naseer Ahmed, Ali Abbas, Mohammad Farooq Khan, Mohammad Azhar, Bakhat Rasal, Sanaullah, Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Ismail.—APP
