Six killed over matrimonial dispute

By Muqaddam Khan

SWABI, Aug 9: Six members of a family, including three sisters and their mother, were killed and two others were injured when a group of Afghan refugees opened fire on their house in the Mainai village on Thursday morning.

Police said the attackers sprayed bullets and hurled hand-grenades on the inmates.

The deceased were identified as Roshan Babi, Kameena, Farzana, Roqaiya, Ahmad Hussian and Aftab Hussian.

Mohammad Hussain, head of the family, and Basbabi, wife of his brother, were injured.

According to reports, Faqir Hussian, son of Mohammad Hussian, had married an Afghan girl, Bakhtmeena, daughter of Said Wazir, without the consent of her parents.

Both families were neighbours before the marriage and they lived in Beena region of the Buner district. However, after the marriage they had left the area.

The target of the attackers was Bakhtmeena and her husband Faqir Hussian, but they escaped unhurt in the attack.

Said Wazir and his brother Sultan, Shamsul Nawab alias Ghunday and Said Arab have been nominated in the FIR lodged with the area police station.
