HYDERABAD, Aug 9: Three policemen have been arrested as an under-trial prisoner in murder case fled from the Civil Court's premises on Thursday after attending the hearing of case along with co-accused.
Umer s/o of Wali Pathan was produced before the Additional District and Sessions Judge-IV for hearing of murder case of 2005 along with co-accused Dawood, Ghulam Ali and Inayatullah.
When the UTPs were brought back to judicial lock-up Umer Pathan managed to escape.
The UTP had allegedly murdered one Dilawar Khan in 2005 and the case was lodged at Site police station. According to co-accused, they had been falsely implicated in the case.
The DPO Hyderabad, Imran Shaukat arrived on the spot and ordered departmental action against delinquent policemen, escorting the UTPs.
He told Dawn that three policemen had been arrested and a case has registered. However, the Cantonment Police said no FIR had so far been registered.
A police source said that in inquiry is underway to fix the responsibility on policemen before registering the FIR.
