LAHORE, Aug 7: A three-member contingent, two players and manager, of the Pakistan Badminton Federation’s junior team will be heading to Hanoi, Vietnam, later in the month to take part in the Asian U-16 Badminton Championships (Aug 22-26).

According to a federation spokesman, this will be the first time for an under-16 team to participate in an international tournament. It will pave the way for grooming more players at the grass root level.

The two players, Arslan Khan and Mohammad Irfan Saeed, will be accompanied by their manager Major Amanat Ali. They will participate in team and individual events.

A training camp for the young players starts from Wednesday at the New Khan Hall. Tayyab Sohail will be the coach while Waseem Ahmed Butt will be the camp commandant. The team leaves for Hanoi on Aug 19.
