Zulfiqar, Munir stand out

KARACHI, Aug 7: Citibank and NIB Bank won their respective matches in All Karachi AKU Sports Centre cricket tournament here on Monday at the AKU ground. In the first match, Citibank registered a three-run victory against AKUF and Staff after a thrilling encounter. Batting first, Citibank collected 166-7 in the stipulated 25 overs with Munir Shafi (41) as the main scorer. Later, AKUF and Staff tried to achieve the target but were just three runs behind in the end.

Meanwhile, in the second game NIB Bank defeated Ufone by four wickets. Batting first, Ufone posted 128 for five in the allotted 25 overs. Zulfiqar bowled grabbed three wickets for 14. NIB Bank, in response, conquered the target while losing six wickets in 22.5 overs with Zulfiqar Larry (53) as the main scorer for the victors.
