HYDERABAD, Aug 7: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MNA Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair has said that the rulers were trying to trap political parties in the name of ‘dialogue’ to perpetuate the uniformed dictatorship in the country by creating rifts among political parties and sabotaging democratic struggle.

In a statement faxed to Dawn here on Tuesday, he said the assemblies which enjoyed the support of 160 million people had been converted into rubber stamps.

He expressed the hope that no political party which believed in democracy would hold talks with present rulers and warned that if any political party support the dictatorship, it would have a bleak future.

He demanded that a national government, comprising representatives of all political parties, should be formed for holding hold free and fair elections.

The MNA warned the rulers that if they opted for undemocratic measures to prolong their rule, they themselves will be responsible for the ‘consequences’.
