LAHORE, Aug 5: The high-profile German soccer coach Monika Staab will conduct a five-day coaching clinic for women from Monday. Staab, who is currently in Pakistan, has already held clinics at Karachi and Quetta. In Lahore, the clinic will be held at the Wapda Sports Complex, Kot Lakhpat.
Former FIFA Referee, Arif Siddiqui and Uzma Zaidi will act as co-ordinator. Staab’s next assignment is to pick and train talented women footballers from Peshawar, Fata, the Northern Areas, AJK and Islamabad from Aug 11-15.
She will also be part of a four-member selection committee toselect 35 best women football players during the National Championship to undergo training camp for the preparation of the first-ever National women football team. The national championship is scheduled to be held at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, from Aug 16 to 24.
Players from 35 districts of Punjab, Sports Sciences Women Club will join Wapda players to attend the clinic.
